NEC and Lenovo PC Business Venture

NEC and Lenovo PC Business Venture - Japanese electronics companies and a leading China, NEC Corp. and Lenovo Group are in the final stages of talks to form a joint venture in the personal computer business.
One scenario would see Lenovo take a majority stake in NEC Personal Products Ltd.., wholly-owned unit of NEC who make and sell PCs, the Nikkei business daily said on Friday (21 / 1).
The leaders in the domestic markets of each PC they intend to promote competitiveness through economies of scale with integrated development, production and material procurement.
They also decided to conduct cooperation in other fields such as information technology services and equipment.NEC controls about 18 percent of Japan's PC market in 2009, but a global company became the 12th with a stake of less than one percent, according to company data intelengensi IDC.
Lenovo has won 27 percent of its domestic market and ranks fourth in the world with a market share of around eight percent.
