China Launches World's Fastest Train

China has launched a train that is recognized as the fastest train in the world. This train can travel more than 390 kilometers per hour. Walking on the average speed of 218 miles per hour, this super-fast trains could travel up to 245 kilometers per hour, cutting travel time from the original nine hours to about three jam.Menurut Xinhua, the project began in 2005 as part of plans to expand high-speed train network intended to connect Guangzhou, the business center in southern China near Hong Kong, with the capital Beijing. "The train can travel 394.2 miles per hour, the fastest train in the world," said Zhang Shuguang, head of the bureau of transportation on the railway ministry.

The test will be conducted early in December and the first service left the eastern metropolis of Wuhan on Saturday. In comparison, the average speed trains in Japan is 243 kilometers per hour, while in France it is 277 kilometers per hour, said Xu Fangliang, general engineer in charge of designing the link, according to Xinhua.

Beijing has a rail development program that is very ambitious with the aim to improve the national network of 86,000 kilometers, and so far the network has reached 120,000 miles.

China launches high-speed train for the first time at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Service when it connects the capital with the port city of Tianjin.
